Snorkel material lifts for all applications now available in Australia

Designed to carry the load, Snorkel material lifts are now available in Australia in a wide range of lift heights and capacities for a multitude of applications.

Popular globally, Snorkel material lifts feature a dual-handle, shift-on-the-fly, two-speed winch for increased productivity when lifting loads, up to twice as fast as other material lifts on the market.  A cable guard, and heavy-duty non-marking casters are fitted as standard, and the lifts utilize heavy-gauge aluminium extrusions and construction-grade cast metal cable pulleys for a long-working life.  Adjustable loading wheels make light work of transporting the lifts, they can even be transported in some cars and small commercial vehicles.  Quick-fold stabiliser legs do not require tools, making set up easy, and non-marking wheels allow the lifts to be easily manoeuvred, even in the stowed position.

Robust and reliable, Snorkel materials lifts deliver best-in-class load capacities and are offered in three families, depending on the application. Designed for heavy-duty construction tasks, the Snorkel ‘ML-C’ range includes three models.  The Snorkel ML12C offers 3.5m of lift height with up to 340kg of load capacity at a 0.36m load centre, with the larger Snorkel ML18C offering up to 5.1m lift height with up to 318kg load capacity at a 0.36m load centre.  The largest model in the family is the Snorkel ML24C that can lift up to 295kg at a 0.36m load centre to a lift height of up to 6.9m.

Ideal for interior applications, the Snorkel ‘ML-M’ family are referred to as mini material lifts and feature a low stowed mast height to easily pass through a standard doorway without requiring a tilt-back system. They are well-suited to facilities maintenance applications where loads may need to be moved throughout a multi-room facility and are available in three models.  The Snorkel ML12M can lift up to 318kg at a 0.36m load centre to a lift height of 3.8m.  At the same load centre, the Snorkel ML16M and Snorkel ML20M can lift loads of 295kg and 272kg to lift heights of 4.4m and 5.5m respectively.

The newest additions to the Snorkel material lift range is a family of five ‘ML-I’ models designed specifically for industrial or warehousing applications. With a stowed width of just 0.77m, the ML-I series is designed to be narrow for manoeuvring around aisles and through doorways. The smallest model in the family is the ML5I, capable of lifting up to 454kg at a 0.36m load centre to a lift height of 2.0m. The ML10I and ML15I models lift 408kg and 363kg at a 0.36m load centre, to lift heights of 3.4m and 4.8m respectively. The larger ML20I and ML25I both benefit from the same narrow stowed width and can lift 340 kg and 272kg respectively at a 0.36m load centre to lift heights of 6.2m and 7.6m.

All eleven Snorkel material lifts can be customized with a range of options, including adjustable forks and fork extensions, a boom attachment, a pipe cradle and a load platform for lifting tools, buckets and materials.  They are built in the USA and are backed by Snorkel’s standard 2-year parts and labour and 5-year structural warranty.

Snorkel CEO, Matthew Elvin, says, “Material lifts are a natural addition to the Snorkel product portfolio.  They are commonly purchased by rental companies as well as by contractors, which aligns with the efforts of our existing Snorkel sales and distribution channels.  We see them as a complementary product, that ultimately reinforces our focus on and commitment to safe working at height, whether we are lifting people or materials.”

Snorkel material lifts are available immediately from stock in Australia through official sales, service and spare provider, Ahern Australia
