LEEA to launch Think Lifting Lesson for schools

The global Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) will launch the Think Lifting School Lesson during a special announcement from CEO Ross Moloney next week.  This will take place at 10:00am GMT on Tuesday 29 September 2020 via Zoom.

This ‘ready to use’ lesson includes films, content, experiments and hand-outs, designed as a toolkit to help companies connect with their local schools and enhance understanding of the lifting industry.

The Think Lifting campaign was launched last year as part of the LEEA  75th anniversary celebrations, in association with Lift and Hoist International (LHI) magazine, sister publication of Lift and Hoist Australasia (LHA).

The school engagement programme aims to highlight career and training opportunities within the lifting industry to secondary school children aged 11-13 years. It does this by linking them directly to local businesses in the sector.  It is currently rolling out in the UK, but has the potential to become an international initiative.

Ross Moloney, LEEA CEO  said, “As a result of COVID-19, LEEA has changed the approach of the Think Lifting programme so that the lesson can now be delivered remotely. This ensures compliance with any pandemic regulations.  What better way to launch the scheme than doing so on Zoom? I look forward to seeing you there.”

If anyone is interested to find out more or to join the call, then please email LEEA at: events@leeaint.com as soon as possible for the Zoom details.
