The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will be hosting the IPAF Asia Conference 2024, on 1-2 August at the Renaissance Nanjing Olympic Centre Hotel. This event promises to be an insightful gathering of the global powered access community, offering opportunities to learn, network, and share best practices.
The upcoming two-day conference promises a series of engaging presentations and activities. It will commence with an opening speech by the Ministry of Emergency Management, followed by addresses from local government and IPAF CEO and managing director Peter Douglas. IPAF representative for China Tim Mo will present the IPAF Global Safety Report and launch the ‘Crushing Kills’ campaign. IPAF’s Romina Vanzi and Susan Xu, Sinoboom CEO, will emphasise safety and collaboration, while Stefano Scapin will highlight the competitive advantage of safety. Martin Wraith will provide a tutorial on optimising rental businesses with proven standards.
The afternoon session will feature Brian Parker’s insights on the new EU Machinery Regulation, a comparative analysis of the MEWP rental market by Roseline Zhang, and a panel discussion on challenges and opportunities in the Asia MEWP industry moderated by Karin Sun. The session will conclude with talks on enhancing MEWP safety through digitalisation by Zhu Jiayu and incorporating safety in construction projects by Jeff Wang. The day will conclude with a gala dinner.
The second day will start with an outdoor machine demonstration, followed by an IPAF Overhead Entrapment Workshop, and conclude with a lunch session.
Tim Mo said: “We warmly welcome MEWP industry people to China to attend the IPAF 2024 Asia Conference. At the time of this Conference, the Chinese MEWP market is experiencing rapid development in the past five years, with new products, applications, trends, demands, challenges, and opportunities intertwined. With the occurrence of some safety accidents, safety, as the foundation of the development of this industry, is increasingly attracting people’s attention. As an association organisation with over 40 years of professional experience in the global MEWP safety industry, IPAF will bring the latest global accident reports, best safety practices, and practical solutions based on safety training and system certification to the industry at this conference, hoping to promote the safe and effective use of MEWP in the region.”
