Bridge lift on the Great Ocean Road
As part of the Regional Roads Victoria program in Australia, the Moggs Creek bridge on the Great Ocean Road will be replaced in the second half of 2019. To allow for normal traffic flows during the construction phase a temporary pre-constructed bridge called a Bailey Bridge was installed overnight in early June. Quinlan Cranes conducted the lift with its Liebherr LTM1220 and it sourced the spreader beams and rigging gear from Dynamic Rigging Hire.
The existing bridge built in 1956 will be demolished to make way for a new bridge and improved turning lanes off the Great Ocean Road into the Moggs Creek community.
Dynamic Rigging Hire, formerly Rigging Rentals Melbourne, has a large range of well-maintained and certified rigging gear, it has assisted many of Victoria’s leading mobile crane companies with pedestrian, road and rail bridge projects in its ten years of operation.
